摘　　要：据1924—1949年《苏州明报》相关文献,在此期间,苏州大众体育事业蓬勃发展,主要表现在有完备的体育组织、有一定规模的体育赛事和比较活跃的体育社团等方面,这是社会发展的需要,也是学校体育教育的示范和影响,以及媒体宣传、推动的结果。同时苏州近代大众体育在基础保障方面也积累了丰富的经验,这些都为当代苏州的群众体育事业的发展奠定了基础。Based on the relevant reports in Suzhou Ming Pao from 1924 to 1949,the mass sports in Suzhou developed rapidly during this period,which is demonstrated in such aspects as a set of complete sport organizations,a series of considerable-scale sport events,and a group of active sport societies.This boosted mass sport modernization in Suzhou,and satisfied the needs of social development.This also resulted from the demonstration and influence of school physical education,and the publicity and advocation of the mass media.The modernization of mass sports in Suzhou laid the foundation for the cause of mass sports in contemporary Suzhou.
