多元族裔家庭的身份流变--以任碧莲的《爱妾》为例

摘　　要：任碧莲的长篇小说《爱妾》透过王家这一多种族非血缘的美国新型混合家庭,描述了王家人在经历了身份危机和族裔性与文化属性的迷茫和探索后,认识到族裔和血统不能决定一个人的文化身份,多元文化下没有哪一种文化身份是纯粹的固定的,少数族裔在被美国主流文化同化的过程中,要注重传承自己的族裔文化,融汇东西方文化的精髓,发展流变的文化身份观。小说结尾王家人终于明白了爱和包容是可以超越族裔差异把家人凝聚在一起的。Gish Jen’s novel The Love Wife,through the Wang family,a new type of mixed US family of multi-ethnic and non consanguinity,describes that after experiencing identity crisis and the confusion and exploration of ethnicity and cultural attributes,the Wangs realize that ethnicity and blood cannot determine a person's cultural identity,and that no cultural identity is purely fixed in the multi-cultural context,and that in the process of assimilation of US mainstream culture,ethnic minorities should pay attention to inheriting our own ethnic culture,integrating the essence of eastern and Western cultures,and developing the changing concept of cultural identity.At the end of the novel,the Wangs finally understand that love and tolerance can transcend ethnic differences and bring family members together.
