摘　　要：菲茨杰拉德的短篇小说集《爵士乐时代的故事》出版于1922年,所收录的短篇故事具有强烈的时代特点,戏剧化地表现了传统观念和现代意识之间的矛盾冲突。本文拟用文学伦理学批评方法,选取短篇小说集里的三个典型故事进行分析,重回美国20世纪20年代的社会背景,从当时的伦理现场出发,再现美国爵士乐时代人们所面对的伦理图境和伦理选择。通过文本传递的伦理道德价值,揭示作家本人对喧嚣的20世纪20年代的冷峻观察和对传统伦理观的严肃思考;通过阐释作家对传统价值观的坚守,揭示文学的教诲功能这一本质特点。The Tales of Jazz Age was published in 1922.The stories collected in this book distinctively reflected the tone of the society.It highly dramatized the conflicts between the modern values and traditional valucs.I choose three typical stories from this collection to analyze fromthe perspective of ethical literary criticism.Let's come back to the earlytwentieth century,rcstore the cthical situation at that time and reviewthe ethical difficulties and ethical choices people had to face nearly acentury ago.The ethical values in the text represented the writer's calmobservation and seriaus thinking of the roaring twenties in the lastcentury.Fitzgerald's firm hold of the traditional values embodies one ofthe attributes of literaturc-edification.
