《伊芙琳》和《马贩子的女儿》中的空间书写和伦理表达

摘　　要：《伊芙琳》和《马贩子的女儿》分别是现代著名作家詹姆斯·乔伊斯和D.H.劳伦斯的短篇小说代表作,不约而同地表达了两位作家对工业文明弊端和现代女性生存状态的关注。从空间理论和文学伦理学批评角度出发,解析两部作品中呈现的相似而又不同的物质、心理和社会空间,揭示伊芙琳和梅布尔在沉闷压抑的伦理环境中的矛盾心理和模糊的伦理身份,比较她们在空间实践中做出的不同伦理选择,阐述乔伊斯和劳伦斯二人的伦理观,从而启迪现代女性应摆脱男权社会的桎梏,在保有独立意识的同时,理性地追求幸福。Eveline and The Horse Dealer’s Daughter are representative short novels written by James Joyce and D.H.Lawrence respectively,which express their concern about the negative influences of industrial civilization and the living conditions of modern women.From the perspective of space theory and literary ethical criticism,the paper analyzes the material,psychological and social space presented in the two works,reveals the contradictory psychology and vague ethical identity of Eveline and Mabel in the depressed ethical environment,compares their different ethical choices in space practices,and expounds the ethical views of Joyce and Lawrence,so as to warn that modern women should get rid of the shackles of the patriarchal society and pursue happiness rationally while maintaining their independent consciousness.
