摘　　要：帕斯捷尔纳克创作《日瓦戈医生》的主导动机,是希望经由描写包括作家本人在内的一代年轻知识分子在动荡历史时代的命运,"把一代人归还给历史"。这一构思始于1920年代中期,作家从那时起陆续完成的若干作品,可视为在与历史的联系中书写一代人命运的艺术尝试。《日瓦戈医生》的问世,则标志作家这一文学使命的完成。作品的主人公日瓦戈和作者帕斯捷尔纳克作为诗人和思想者的形象,同样拥有长久的艺术生命力。B.Pasternak’s main motivation for creating Doctor Zhivago is to"return a generation to history"by describing the fate of a generation of young intellectuals,including the author himself,in a turbulent historical era.This idea began in the mid-1920 s,and the several works that the writer has completed since then can be regarded as artistic attempts to write the destiny of a generation in connection with history.The publication of Doctor Zhivago marks the completion of the writer’s literary mission.The protagonist Zhivago and the author Pasternak,as poets and thinkers,also have long-lasting artistic vitality.
