In 2020 Taiwan election, although the DPP won the executive power and the majority of seats in the "Legislative Yuan",a closer look at the voting statistics reveals that a proportion of voters gave executive and legislative ballots to different parties. This kind of "split-ticket voting" has become increasingly common with the reform of the electoral system. This essay examines the polling results in cities and counties to analyze the phenomenon that supporters of the Kuomintang voted for the regional "legislator" candidates that Kuomintang nominated, but did not vote for the "president" candidate Han Guoyu;meanwhile, some supporter of the DPP voted for the "president" candidate Tsai Ing-wen, but did not vote for the regional "legislator" candidatesthat DPP nominated.Split-ticket voting has become common in Taiwan election and exerts significant influence over the competitive relation between parties.
