2020 Taiwan election is not only a game of politics but also a competition of information dissemination.Under the influence of its setting, the media agenda has a significant impact on the issues of public concern in the election.Based on a sample analysis of reports in Taiwan’s China Times and Liberty Times from July 28 th, 2019(when Han Guoyu was nominated as the KMT candidate) to January 10 th, 2020(just before the close of the election),this paper finds that during the election, the issues that newspapers paid the most attention to were "candidates’ actions","Taiwan economy","cross-Strait relations" and "health",while "natural disasters","environmental protection" and "entertainment and gossip" receivedless attention. The results are of great significance to the understanding of the election as a political campaign, and may provide a more valuable starting point for further studies on politics in Taiwan.
