摘　　要：THE centenary of the Communist Party of China(CPC)was marked by a grand gathering held on July 1 at Beijing’s Tian’anmen Square.General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping,who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission,declared in his speech at the ceremony that China had realized its first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects,and that the nation is now heading toward its second centenary goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects.
