Objective To explore the sensitivity of static balance and Morse fall scale for predicting falls risk in hospitalized elderly patients and the correlation between the two assessment methods. Methods Two hundred hospitalized elderly patients was assessed the falls risk at the same time.Assessed mothed:bipedal static balance and Morse fall scale.According to the history of falls in recent one year, these patients were divided into falls group and non-falls group, with 100 cases in each group.Independent sample t test was used to analyze the static balance and the sensitivity of the scale, and Spearman grade correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation. Results Both methods have statistical significance(P<0.05).The correlativity between them was 0.266-0.392.Conclusion Static balance and Morse fall scale can effectively predict the fall risk of hospitalized elderly patients, and the correlation is high.
