摘 要:借助自建语料库,对比分析了中美大学校长在官网致辞的语步结构与若干语言特征。研究发现,两者的语步结构基本一致,但部分语步的出现频次存在显著差异。在语言特征的使用上,两者均以陈述语气为主;均倾向于使用第一人称代词作主语,但中国校长致辞比美国校长致辞更多使用第三人称作主语;均倾向于使用中量值情态动词,但美国校长致辞比中国校长致辞使用更多的低量值情态动词;主题词分析显示,中美大学校长致辞对学校的话语策略也存在差异。上述差异由不同的中美社会文化语境所致,主要受语境文化、社会心理、权力距离等因素的影响。Based on the self-built corpora,this paper compares the move structure and some linguistic features of presidents′messages from the websites of Chinese and American universities.The results indicate that the move structures of presidents′speeches of Chinese and American universities are basically consistent,but the frequency of some moves differs considerably.As to the use of linguistic features,both mainly adopt the declarative mood,and tend to use first-person pronouns as subjects.However,more third-person subjects are used in the presidents′messages of Chinese universities.Both tend to use medium-valued modal verbs,but more low-valued modal verbs are used in the presidents′messages of American universities.The keyword analysis shows that the discourse strategies on universities in presidents′messages of Chinese and American universities are also different.These differences may be caused by the differences in socio-cultural contexts,including contextual culture,social psychology and power distance.
