Reducing the use of heat energy and using clean energy to substitute fossil energy are the main development direction of oil field. To accelerate the large-scale and standardized application of solar thermal energy in oilfields, this paper takes the oilfield in Northwest,Northeast and North China(referred to as three-north area)as an example to clarify the technical problems to be solved by analyzing its heat utilization and heat energy substitution direction, the development status of solar thermal energy technology and the characteristics of various heat collection technologies, and considering the different heat requirements in the development and production of heavy oil and thin oil.By combining the oilfield application environment with the advantages and constraints of solar thermal energy application in oilfields, this paper puts forward the solar thermal energy utilization route of"top-level design, scientific research, demonstration leading,small-step iteration, development of business cooperation mode, and promotion of large-scale application",which provides an implementation path for oilfield enterprises in the three-north area to accelerate the large-scale utilization of solar thermal energy.
