摘  要:《野草在歌唱》是英国作家多丽丝·莱辛的首部作品,受到作家的女性身份和小说以女主人公视角为主的叙事方式的影响,作品中的男性气质历来多被忽略。文章从康奈尔的男性气质理论出发,结合南罗德西亚的殖民语境,以身为殖民者的白人农场主为切入点,聚焦小说中的霸权性男性气质,通过具体的文本分析,探析莱辛如何用其犀利的笔触揭示殖民地白人农场主霸权性男性气质的畸形建构,从而挑战了“白人至上”和“文明开化”的荒谬论断,又如何通过深刻的剖析对这种霸权性男性气质进行多重解构,以寻求解构后的平等,为性别、阶级和种族关系的和谐发展增添新的可能性。The Grass is Singing is the first novel of British writer Doris Lessing.Influenced by the writer’s female identity and the novel’s narration from female perspective,the masculinity in it is largely ignored.Based on the colonial context of Southern Rhodesia,this paper applies R.W.Connell’s theory of masculinities to analyze white farmers’hegemonic masculinity in the novel.Through careful reading,this paper tends to explore how Lessing criticizes the absurd judgment of“white supremacy”and“civilization”by revealing the abnormal construction of white farmers’hegemonic masculinity,and how she deconstructs the hegemonic masculinity through a profound analysis,so as to seek the equality and new possibilities for the harmonious development of gender,class and race relations.
