摘　　要：服务社会作为高校的教育职能体现在方方面面,图书馆的社会服务就是这一职能的具体体现。文章通过分析民办高校图书馆开展社会服务的作用和意义及社会服务实践经验,探索民办高校图书馆开展社会服务的方法和途径。Serving the society is the educational function of colleges and universities and it is reflected in every aspect.The social service of library is the concrete embodiment of this function.Through analyzing the function and significance of the private university library to cany out social service and the practical experience of social service,this paper explores the methods and approaches of the private university libraries to cany out social service.
