《金银岛》中的投资行为与帝国意识

摘　　要：史蒂文森的《金银岛》是经典历险小说之一,以往研究不乏从后殖民主义视角出发解读文本,但较少深入其中的经济主题。史蒂文森在小说中描写了一系列投资行为,反映了当时的投资背景,他借角色之口批评了海盗缺乏投资意识、挥霍资本的行为,同时描写了不同角色如何借助投资行为维持经济地位,甚至实现阶级跨越。本文从投资行为出发解读文本,发现在作者笔下,身份地位和财富来源无关紧要,只要参与投资即为帝国服务,只要为帝国服务就能获得最大的投资回报,由此,史蒂文森的书写隐含了一定帝国意识,不自觉维护了帝国实践。Stevenson’s Treasure Island is one of the classic adventure novels.Previous studies have interpreted the text from the perspective of post-colonialism,but few have explored the economic theme in it.Stevenson described a series of investment behaviors in the novel,which reflected the investment background at that time.He criticized the pirates’lack of investment awareness and squandering of capital through the words of the characters,and described how different roles maintained economic status and even achieved class leapfrogging by means of investment.From the perspective of investment behavior,this paper found thatstatus and source of wealth did not matter in the work.As long as one participated in investment,he served imperialism,and as long as he served imperialism,he obtained the greatest return on investment.Therefore,Stevenson’s writing implied a certain sense of imperial consciousness and unconsciously upheld imperial practice.
