摘　　要：Consequentialism as a moral theory has aroused various criticisms and objections mainly because it is committed to an impersonal moral point of view.However,consequentialism is worth defending,and in fact,defensible,for at least two reasons.Firstly,the consequentialist notion of moral rightness is quite congenial to the important moral intuition that a morally right action is one which brings as much good as possible into the world.
