摘 要:英国早期汉学家对于译介对象的最初选取与侧重,在很大程度上影响了此后西方世界“中国文学”观念的基本面貌。综观19世纪英国汉学近百年发展历程,可大致划分为两个阶段,即起步与发展阶段(1810s—1860s)、转折与繁荣的新时期(1870s—1910s)。梳理这两个阶段的中国文学译介及文学史纂原典,分析这些文本的主要特征及生成原因,探讨其论述立场和叙事逻辑,可以展示英语世界“中国文学”观念的演进以及英国早期中国文学史纂的生成历程。The initial selection and emphasis of early British sinologists on the translation object greatly affected the basic appearance of the concept of“Chinese Literature”in the western world.Looking at the development of Sinology in Britain in the 19th century,it can be roughly divided into two stages:the initial and development stage(1810s-1860s)and the new period of transition and prosperity(1870s-1910s).By combing the translation and introduction of Chinese literature and the original compilation of literary history in these two stages,analyzing the main characteristics and causes of these texts,and discussing their discussion position and narrative logic,the evolution of the concept of“Chinese Literature”in the English world and the birth process of the compilation of the history of Chinese literature in early Britain can be clearly shown.
