Objective To assess hand hygiene compliance(HCW)rate among health care workers before and after the COVID-19 epidemic and gloves wearing behavior. Methods Field investigation, recording and questionnaire were used to compare hand hygiene compliance rate among health care workers before(Feb.to May in 2019)and after(Feb.to May in 2020)the COVID-19 epidemic and gloves wearing behavior. Results Overall,939 HCW were assessed before and after COVID-19,with 3735 and 4412 observations of hand hygiene opportunities, respectively. We observed a significantly higher HH compliance after COVID-19(81.14%vs 75.93%,χ^(2)=32.837,P<0.01).The HCWs that wearing gloves were respectively 27.03%and 33.53%before and after COVID-19,and difference were significant(χ^(2)=8.677,P<0.01).Conclusion The COVID-19 pandemic positively influences HH compliance, but HH rate is lower when gloves are worn.
