摘  要:黎紫书最新长篇小说《流俗地》突破既往写作程式与风格,以"当下"为观照时间,凸显"地方"流俗风华,绘制不一样的南洋日常生活图景。小说围绕三个童年伙伴的成长与离散,兼及各自家庭不同人物命运的迁延变故,以"锡都"为空间场域、以组屋"楼上楼"为叙事焦点,透过盲女银霞的独特叙事视角,展现了1970年代以来马来西亚华人及其他种族的庶民生活变迁、过往历史风华和社会政经变动。相对于其他马华作家致力的"蛮荒南洋""老南洋"的想象性建构,黎紫书再一次突破自我,创造性地书写了极具现实性的城市生活的"南洋浮世绘"。Land of Prevalent Custom,the latest novel by Li Zi-shu,has broken through the existing formula and style and,based on the present as a way of looking at time,highlights the local customs by depicting the daily living pictures in the South Seas.It tells the story of the growing-up and dispersal of three childhood friends and changes involving the fate of various characters of their respective families,with Ipoh as the spatial site and the storey-above-storey in the ancestral house as the narrative focus,through the unique vision of Yin Xia,a blind woman,that is a representation of changes in the life of Malaysian Chinese and the common people of other ethnic variety since the 1970 s as well as of historical,social,economic and political changes in the past.Compared with the imaginative construction of savage South Seas and Old South Seas by the other Malaysian Chinese writers,Li Zi-shu,once again,breaks through herself as she creatively produces a ukiyo-e of the South Seas of very realistic urban life.
