摘　　要：《消失的地平线》是英国作家詹姆斯·希尔顿最具代表性的一部作品。小说塑造了一个美丽祥和、远离喧嚣与动乱、带有明显乌托邦色彩的地方——香格里拉。希尔顿将香格里拉塑造成一个与当时的西方社会完全相异的乌托邦国度,以此表达他对西方社会的反思与批判,以及实现自我改善、自我救赎的目的。Lost Horizonis the most representative work of British writer James Hilton.The novel depicts a beautiful and peaceful place,away from noise and turmoil,with a clear utopian flavor-Shangri La.On the basis of text analysis,this paper reveals that Hilton’s portrayal of Shangri-La as a utopian country completely different from the western society at that time is actually intended to express his reflection and criticism of the western society.At the same time,it also hopes to achieve the purpose of self-improvement and self-redemption through this beautiful utopian world that I shape.
