摘 要:长期以来,学术界对于"通感"的认知存在两种观点:一是认为"通感"说是钱锺书首创,二是认为"通感"说为异域舶来品。本文在立足于渊源考辨、文本细读、版本参照与语境解析的基础上,对"通感"说的来龙去脉进行全面梳理,进而发现,"通感"说既非钱锺书所"拈出",亦非外来传入之概念。但是"通感"说由一个词语逐渐固化为一个概念,再由概念建构为真理,在这一转换生成过程中,钱锺书却发挥了举足轻重的作用:他的跨文化、跨学科的系统论证及其近30年的修改完善,使得"通感"说作为一个有着明确内涵与外延的概念开始逐步走向明晰。而当时间达至20世纪80年代,在教材书写等多重文化合力的作用下,"通感"说才真正完成了真理化的建构过程。There have long been two views toward synesthesia in the academia:Some believe Qian Zhongshu initiated synesthesia while others argue that it was a foreign import.Based on a textual research on the origin,intensive reading of the text,edition reference and context analysis,the paper holds that synesthesia was neither from Qian nor from abroad.However,Qian plays a crucial role in the transformational generative process where it was changed from a noun to concept in a consistent way:his transcultural and interdisciplinary argumentation,as well as modification and improvement for almost three decades,allowed synesthesia,a concept including clear connotation and denotation,in achieving an explicit state.Until the 1980 s,it was a constructive process that was accepted truth in diverse fields such as textbook compiling.
