私立厦门大学时期林文庆校长的学科建设思想与实践研究

摘  要:私立厦大创校校长林文庆早期的留学经历、尊孔尚儒的文化立场和融会中西的办学理念塑造了他独具特色的学科建设思想。在厦门大学的学科布局上他结合学校地理优势,并以救国兴国为导向重点建设了生物、教育、商学、文学等学科;在人才培养模式上他坚持重质轻量,培养出了一批具有国际视野的一流人才;在学术队伍建设方面他对外不惜重金、广延名师,对内资助留学、储才备师,搭建起了一支高水平的学术梯队;同时他还积极改善学术环境,硬件上以实用为导向尽可能地创造良好科研条件,软环境上他以身作则创设了浓厚的科研氛围,重视交流为私立厦大搭建了学术互动平台。Lin Wenqing’s early experience of studying abroad,his cultural standpoint of respecting Confucius and Confucianism,and his educational idea of integrating Chinese and western shaped his unique thoughts of discipline construction.In terms of the discipline layout of private Xiamen University,he combined the geographical advantages of the University and focused on biology,education,business,literature and other disciplines under the guidance of saving and rejuvenating the nation.As to talent training mode,he insisted on emphasizing quality over quantity,and cultivated a number of first-class talents with international vision.In terms of academic team building,he spared no effort to hire famous teachers in foreign schools and supported private Xiamen University’s teachers to study abroad.Through these means,Lin Wenqing has built a high-level academic echelon.At the same time,he also actively improved the academic environment and created practical scientific research conditions;in the soft environment,he created a strong atmosphere of scientific research by setting an example,paid attention to academic exchanges,and built an academic interaction platform for private Xiamen University.
