权势干预与学术独立——以周天健入职史语所为中心  

Power Intervention and Academic Independence:On Zhou Tianjian’s Entry to Institute of History and Philology

摘　　要：1942年因日寇入侵而辗转播迁于大后方的中央研究院历史语言研究所在不拟招人、违反院章的情况下,被迫吸纳仅有高中学历的周天健为助理员。此事过程异常曲折,名义起初由国民政府考试院铨叙部分发为助理研究员,然后变相操作为该院院长戴季陶私人推荐。对于处理此事的态度和方式,中央研究院院长朱家骅和历史语言研究所所长傅斯年之间分歧严重。在权势干预下,最终史语所不得不妥协接纳。这看似平淡不惊的人员入职事件,其实背后暗潮涌动,引起的往还纷争不仅隐含纷繁复杂的人事关系与身份认同问题,而且牵涉学术机关下的学人群体在权势干预与学术独立之间、社会现实与学术理想之间的两难抉择。In 1942,Institute of History and Philology,Academia Sinica was forced to admit Zhou Tianjian as an assistant while there was no vacancy due to the lack of funds.Zhou’s admission to the Institute,with only a high school degree,was a tortuous process.At first,namely the national government examination institute issued him,and then the secret box operation was changed to the private recommendation of Dai Jitao,the dean of the Institute.There were serious disagreements between Zhu Jiahua,President of Academia Sinica,and Fu Ssu-nien,director of Institute of History and Philology,about the attitude and way to deal with this matter,which ended with Fu Ssu-nien’s compromise.In fact,the disputes caused by this seemingly trivial matter not only reflect the complicated personnel relations and identity issues,but also involve the dilemma between power intervention and academic independence,social reality and academic ideal of the academic community under the academic organ.
