摘 要:汉朝(公元前206年~公元220年),著名的伏波将军路博德率领一支十万人的大军,穿越山岭,从现今的湖南抵达广东省连州。据史书记载,军队于连州就地取材,伐木建造楼船,顺流而下至现今广州一带,再至海上。路博德率军南下是古代中国历史和今日中国所称"古道"发展上重要的里程碑。这些古道将湘粤桂边界的山区通过珠江及其支流与广州、珠江三角洲和海洋连接起来。无论就政治军事目的而言,还是就贸易和交流而言,这自古至今都是沟通中原和沿海极为重要的路线。现如今,研究所谓海上丝绸之路的大多数学者均将注意力集中在港口城市、海外贸易路线,以及中国与海外诸国之间的贸易商品上,却很少注意到陆路与海路之间的重要联系,或内陆商品如何到达沿海港口,以及港口商品如何被分配到内陆地区。In the ancient Han dynasty the famous Fubo General Lu Bode led a naval unit of 100,000 men across the mountains from what is today Hunan province to Lianzhou in Guangdong province.There they cut down forests and built a fleet of warships and sailed down the rivers to Canton and then to the sea.The events of Lu Bode were important milestones in ancient Chinese history and in the development of what has become known as the"ancient roads"that connected the mountains along the Hunan-Guangdong-Guangxi border via the North River with Canton,the greater Pearl River delta,and the seas beyond.This was a vital strategic route not only for politico-military purposes but also for trade and communications between the interior and the sea from the ancient period to modern times.Based on textual sources and fieldwork this paper is a case study of the Lianyang(Lianzhou,Lianshan,and Yangshan)trading system.By the late imperial age(Ming and Qing dynasties)there already existed a sophisticated and highly integrated trading system that linked intraregional,transregional,and transnational trade,as well as coastal ports with riverine and highland markets.
