Combining the high-temperature superconducting(HTS) pulse transformer with the XRAM circuit can theoretically reduce the charging power requirements of the inductors and obtain high-amplitude current pulses. Based on two small HTS pulse transformer modules, an XRAM structure continuous pulsed power supply circuit experiment platform was built, and verification experiments on the circuit at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature were conducted. At a fixed operating frequency of 5 Hz, the experimental waveforms measured at the liquid nitrogen temperature were basically the same as the simulated waveforms. The required primary charging power was 1.35 kW, which was much smaller than the power demand of 34.2 kW at room temperature. The experimental results prove that the XRAM circuit based on HTS pulse transformers is feasible. Compared with the traditional inductive energy storage, superconducting inductive energy storage has a great advantage in reducing the voltage and power requirements of the primary charging power supply.
