从西夏文本看孙子“伐交”的本义

摘　　要：后世对《孙子兵法》“伐交”一词的理解,分歧很大。有人把“交”理解为“交兵”,认为“伐交”是军事手段;有人把“交”理解为“与诸侯结交”,认为“伐交”是外交手段而非军事手段。西夏文《孙子兵法三注》中的译文表明,在《孙子兵法》一书中具有特定含义的“交”,有“设营对峙”和“战力结合”的意思,表明“伐交”是军事行动,即列阵示威,以屈敌之兵,类似于现在的军事演习,而非采取外交手段,孤立敌人,以迫使其屈服。夏译本对今人研读《孙子兵法》具有重要的参考价值。There are great differences in the understanding of the word“Fajiao(伐交)”in the Art of War.Some people understand“Jiao(交)”as“fighting between the two armies"and believe that“Fajiao(伐交)”is a military means.Some people understand“Jiao(交)”as“State diplomacy",and believe that“Fajiao(伐交)”is a diplomatic means rather than a military means.The Tangut version of The Art of War with Three Commentaries shows that“Jiao(交)”has a specific meaning of“setting up camps for confrontation”or“combining combat power”.That indicates“Fajiao(伐交)”is a military action of array demonstrations to subdue the enemy's troops,which is similar to the current military exercises,rather than using diplomatic means to isolate the enemy and force him to yield.The Tangut Version of the Art of War has important refer-ence value for us to study of the Art of War。
