Objective To explore the effect of preoperative visits combined with collective education in wards on the health awareness of patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Methods Using the convenient sampling method,a total of 102 patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery who were admitted to Nanjing Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University(Nanjing First Hospital)from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research objects.According to the order of admission, patients were divided into the observation group and the control group, with 51 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given regular preoperative visits and regular surgical education, while patients in the observation group were given preoperative visits combined with collective education in wards. The Knee Arthroscopic Surgery Health Knowledge Questionnaire was used to compare the health awareness of patients between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results The scores of Knee Arthroscopic Surgery Health Knowledge Questionnaire of patients in two groups after the intervention were higher than those before the intervention, and scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group after the intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions The application of preoperative visits combined with collective education in wards for patients undergoing knee arthroscopy is beneficial to improve their awareness of health knowledge.
