摘　　要：19世纪英国小说含有丰富多样的绅士形象,体现了绅士概念的变迁,包含贵族绅士的主动转型以及新兴阶层拥抱绅士身份的热切愿望。绅士形象形成的原因有新兴阶层对身份认同的需求,也有社会对新绅士观的接纳。绅士形象塑造给英国绅士文化注入了新的生命力。There are various images of gentlemen in British novels in the 19th century,which reflects the change of the concept of gentlemen and concerns the active transformation of the gentry and the eager desire of the emerging class to embrace the identity of gentlemen.The reasons for the formation of the images of gentlemen include the demand of the emerging class for identity and the acceptance of the new concept of gentlemen by the society.The image building of gentlemen has injected new vitality into the gentlemen culture.
