摘　　要：在最初的几年,也就是50年代初,IDF开始寻求一种能够与埃及、叙利亚、约旦等阿拉伯国家的装甲力量相抗衡的主战坦克。由于薄弱的装甲和易燃的前置发动机,从法国购买AMX-13轻型坦克的方案最终被舍弃。数辆坦克被陆续提供给IDF进行测试,结果发现它们都不适合在内盖夫沙漠炎热多尘的条件下使用。In its first years,in the early 50s,the IDF searched for a main battle tank that will be able to be a reasonable opponent against the armor of the Arab countries like Egypt,Syria and Jordan.The option to acquire the AMX-13 light tank from France was abandoned due to its thin armor and the flammable front mounted engine.Several tanks were supplied to the IDF for proving ground and found improper for service in hot and dusty conditions of the Negev Desert.
