摘　　要：Founded in 1898 at the site of a small fishing village of the Jurchen people,ancestors of the Manchu people,Harbin experienced fast growth after becoming the hub for construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway by Russians at the end of the 19th and early 20th century,when it was linked to the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Russian port of Vladivostok.Chosen by Russians as the base of their railway administration,Harbin quickly became a modern city with buildings,parks,and public facilities created by renowned Russian architects and European urban planners.
