Objective To evaluate the effects of vitamin D supplementation on risk of T2DM in non-diabetics with varying degrees of vitamin D deficiency. Methods The databases, including PubMed,MEDLINE,Cochrane,EMbase,CNKI,Wanfang Data,VIP,CMB were searched from the inception to March 2020 to retrieve random control trials on the effects of vitamin D supplementation on risk of T2DM in non-diabetics with varying degrees of vitamin D deficiency. The screening, data extraction and quality assessment were conducted in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3 software. Results Total 10 studies involving 39356 subjects were included for analysis.Meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group, vitamin D supplementation had no significant effect on the risk of T2DM in non-diabetics with varying degrees of vitamin D deficiency(RR=0.97,95%CI:0.91-1.04,P>0.05).However,subgroup analysis showed that sufficient vitamin D supplementation decreased the risk of T2DM in this group(RR=0.87,95%CI:0.76-0.98,P<0.05).Conclusion Sufficient vitamin D supplementation may reduce the risk of T2DM in non-diabetics with varying degrees of vitamin D deficiency.
