摘　　要：很多城市都是由历史遗留下的古城发展而来,这些古城能够反映一定的历史传统风貌和地域特征,但由于现代城市发展中对文物保护单位的保护力度不够,导致无法纳入历史文化名城保护体系,面临保护与发展的尴尬局面。文章以河南襄城县明清古城更新为例,探讨了此类古城的更新发展路径,为具有历史或地域文化特征而又难以达到保护级别的古城古镇如何提升城市品牌、塑造城市特色、激活内生动力提供了可资参考的范例。Many cities have developed from the ancient cities left over from history.These ancient cities can reflect certain historical traditions and regional characteristics.However,due to insufficient protection of cultural relics in the development of modern cities,they cannot be included in the protection system of historical and cultural cities,and is encountered with the embarrassing situation of protection and development.Taking the renewal of the ancient city of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Xiangcheng County,Henan as an example,this paper explores the renewal and development path of such ancient cities,and provides a reference example for how to promote the city’s brand,to shape the city characteristics and to activate the citys’ endogenous growth power of the ancient cities and towns that have historical or regional cultural characteristics,but are difficult to reach the protection level.
