摘　　要：格萨尔王是我国各民族共享的中华文化符号,格萨尔王及其英雄史诗体现出来的人文精神与文化品格,是中华民族优秀传统文化的集中表达。文章从格萨尔王的出生时间与出生地、身世问题、人文精神与文化品格、格萨尔王与格萨尔史诗的关系、格萨尔史诗研究等五个方面入手,全面回顾了百年来我国各族专家学者对格萨尔王及格萨尔史诗研究的进展情况,以期发挥格萨尔王研究在加强各民族交往交流交融、增强各族人民群众对中华文化的认同和铸牢中华民族共同体意识中的重要作用。King Gesar is a symbol of Chinese culture shared by all ethnic groups in China,and the humanistic spirit and cultural character embodied in King Gesar and the Epic of King Gesarare the concentrated expression of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.This article starts with the discussion of the following five aspects:King Gesar’s birth time and place,his life experience,humanistic spirit and cultural character,the relationship between King Gesar and the Epic of King Gesar,and the studies of the epic.Furthermore,it comprehensively reviews the studies of King Gesar and the epic done by the experts and scholars of various ethnic groups in China since the past century.The aim is expecting the studies of King Gesar to play an important role in strengthening the communication and integration of various ethnic groups,enhancing the people's recognition of the Chinese culture and building a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation.
