摘  要:设计了一种基于二维光子晶体自准直效应和光子禁带特性的新型紧凑型偏振分束器,器件尺寸为9μm×9μm,利用光子晶体的自准直效应实现TE偏振光和TM偏振光在自准直结构中的自准直传播,基于光子禁带特性实现TE偏振和TM偏振的正交分离。对于插入的偏振分束结构的空气孔排数为5时,1550 nm处的TE偏振光的透过率为95.4%,对应的偏振消光比为23 dB,TM偏振光的透过率为88.5%,对应的偏振消光比为37 dB。对于覆盖100 nm带宽的TE和TM偏振光,TE偏振消光比和TM偏振消光比分别高于18 dB和30 dB。与以往的偏振分束器相比,结构更简单,尺寸更小,偏振消光比更高,更好地满足现代光通信、光集成系统的需求。A new compact polarization beam splitter based on the self-collimation effect of two-dimensional photonic crystals and photonic band gap characteristics is designed in this paper.The size of the entire device is 9μm×9μm.The selfcollimation effect of photonic crystals is used to realize TE polarized light and TM polarization.The self-collimation propagation of light in the self-collimation structure utilizes the photonic band gap characteristic to realize the orthogonal separation of TE polarization and TM polarization.When the number of air holes of the inserted polarization beam splitting structure is 5,the transmittance of TE polarized light at 1550 nm is 95.4%,the corresponding polarization extinction ratio is 23 dB,and the transmittance of TM polarized light is 88.5%,which corresponds to the polarization extinction ratio is 37 dB.For TE and TM polarized light covering a 100 nm bandwidth,the TE polarization extinction ratio and TM polarization extinction ratio are higher than 18 d B and 30 d B,respectively.Compared with the previous polarization beam splitter,the structure is simpler,the size is smaller,and the polarization extinction ratio is higher,which better meets the needs of modern optical communications and optical integrateion systems.
