摘　　要：大卫·贾德森·海金是美国主题编目和分类系统的专家,1957年度“玛格丽特·曼荣誉奖”获得者。作为图书馆领域的实干家,其编目思想对美国及其世界上其它国家图书馆在主题编目和分类系统的构建和使用方面做出了卓越的贡献。文章梳理了海金主题编目和分类系统的思想,阐述了他的编目思想对现当代编目实践活动的影响:主题编目的相关原则和具体做法构成了现代LCSH的基础;与国际图联倡导的主题标题语言构建及应用所遵循的原则具有一致性;为主题规范数据的形成打下了基础。David Judson Haykin is an expert in subject cataloging and classification in the United States,the Margaret Mann Citation winner in 1957.He has made outstanding contributions to the development of the classification system,and has established the principles for the development of the Library of Congress Subject Headings,which are embodied in many of his works.The paper introduces Haykin’s ideas of classification system and subject cataloging,and analyzes profoundly the influence of his ideas on contemporary cataloging practical activities:DDC is widely used;the principles and practices of subject cataloging form the basis of modern LCSH;they are consistent with the principles of the construction and application of subject cataloging’language advocated by IFLA,and lay a foundation for the formation of subject authority data.
