秦代焚书坑儒事件本末辨析  

On Burning Books and Burying Literati in Pits in Qin Dynasty

摘　　要：秦始皇焚书,并未焚烧秦朝廷典藏室收藏的所有图书,而保留了符合君主专制统治思想和中国封建社会制度需要的官方正版。先秦典籍的全部焚毁,并不是因为秦始皇所颁布的焚书令,而在于西楚霸王项羽火烧阿房宫蔓延三个月不灭的大火。被秦始皇坑杀的儒士分为两类:一类是方术之士,即遵从邹衍学说的阴阳家之徒;另一类是文学之士,即遵从孔子学说的儒家之徒。The First Emperor of Qin did not burn all the books reserved in the library of the Qin Dynasty,but retained the official versions of those books satisfying the needs of autocratic monarchy and the system of feudal society.It was in the severe fire set by Xiang Yu,not Qin Shi Huang,which lasted for three months and destroyed Epang Palace that books and records of the Pre-Qin period were all burned.Scholars buried in pits were classified into two categories:one is Fangshi(necromancer),who were the disciples of the School of Yin-yang and Zou Yan doctrine,while the other one is literati,who were the followers of Confucianism.
