The effective protection and management of the landscape corridor is conducive to the overall protection and characteristic style of the historical city.Taking Fuzhou historic city as an example, this paper analyzes the overall changes and preservation status of landscape corridors among important mountains in historic urban area from the perspective of visibility. The results show that in Fuzhou historic urban area, six landscape corridors were fully visible in 1999,and three corridors were completely blocked by high-rise buildings in 2008,since then, the visual access of landscape corridors in this area has continued to today.According to the statistics of the number of buildings seriously affecting the visibility of landscape corridors in historic urban area, the number of buildings exceeding the height control under the condition of guaranteeing the 1/3 and 2/3 of the natural mountain peak to the foot of mountain is lower than that under the control of the historic city protection planning, which indicates that the historic city protection planning strictly controls the buildings height in the visual corridor. In view of the problems existing in the protection of landscape corridor, the height control strategy of buildings is discussed based on the mountain landscape overlooking control method.
