在中西教育之间:论曾纪泽对西方教育的认识及反思

摘  要:曾纪泽对中西教育差异的认识体现在以下两个方面:一是中西教育构建的知识结构不同;一是不同知识结构所衍生的价值取向也存有差异。通过考析、比较中西教育的异同,曾纪泽萌发了新的教育思想:一是引进、翻译西方书籍;二是设立新型蒙养书院,鼓励留学;三是重视西方语言教育。曾氏的教育思想一方面是对洋务教育思想的继承和发展,另一方面,囿于传统文化所衍生的“西学中源”理论,这种教育观又不能不显示出鲜明的保守观念。Zeng Jize’s understanding of the differences between Chinese and western education is reflected in the following two aspects:First,the knowledge structure of Chinese and western education is different;second,the value orientation derived from different knowledge structure is also different.Through the analysis and comparison of the similarities and differences between Chinese and western education,Zeng Jize had sprouted new educational ideas:to introduce and translate Western books;to set up a new type of academies to add western learning and encourage students to study abroad;to attach importance to Western language education.On one hand,Zeng’s educational ideas are the inheritance and development of Westernization educational ideas;on the other hand,they are limited to the theory of“western learning derived from traditional culture”,which inevitably shows a distinct conservative concept.
