摘　　要：约翰·巴斯的《烟草经纪人》不仅是一部展示17世纪马里兰州的历史全景小说,更是一部主人公埃比尼泽·库克的成长小说。巴斯通过历史与虚构相结合的方式,多角度展示了埃比尼泽坚守"纯真"的故事。从文学伦理学批评的角度看,埃比尼泽在生理上与心理上的"纯真"造成了伦理困境,他不得不在成长中做出伦理选择。埃比尼泽所承载的伦理价值与巴斯深植于作品中的伦理意图也在小说中得到展现:"纯真"在一定程度上可以实现对荒谬现实的反拨,但个体的经验、理性与责任意识在社会生活中更有价值。John Barth’s The Sot-Weed Factor is not only a historical novel about the 17 th-century Maryland,but also a bildungsroman about the protagonist Ebenezer Cooke.Through the combination of history and fiction,Barth showed the story of Ebenezer’s insistence on innocence and virginity from multiple perspectives.From the perspective of ethical literary criticism,Ebenezer’s physical and psychological innocence caused ethical dilemmas,and he had to make ethical choices in his growth.The ethical value of this novel and the ethical intentions were deeply rooted in this novel: "innocence" could rebel against the absurd reality to a certain extent,but the individual experience,rational consciousness and sense of responsibility were more valuable in social life.
