Objective: To observe the application and effect of improved feeding mode in children with cleft lip and palate. Methods: 80 cases of cleft lip and palate in the hospital were randomly divided into group A and group B, with 40 cases in each group. The conventional feeding and modified feeding methods were adopted respectively, and the feeding effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results: The total incidence of complications in group A was 25%, which was significantly higher than that in group B, with statistically significant difference(χ^(2)=6.382, P<0.05). The satisfaction of family members in group B was 100%, which was significantly higher than 90% in group A, with statistically significant difference(χ^(2)=6.382, P<0.05). And the nursing time, hospitalization time and weight gain of group B were significantly better than those of group A, with statistically significant difference(t=5.381, 4.473, 3.738, P<0.05). Conclusion: The adoption of improved feeding mode can significantly reduce the incidence of complications, improve family satisfaction, reduce the feeding time of children, and the overall effect is significant.
