Objective This study aims to evaluate the incidence of feeding-related adverse events(AEs)and the safety in bronchiolitis children with enteral nutrition on high-flow nasal cannula(HFNC)therapy.Method This retrospective study included children≤24-month-old with bronchiolitis receiving HFNC in PICU.Data included demographics, respiratory support level during feeding, and feeding-related AEs,PICU monitoring time,HFNC Use time, residence time, total oxygen therapy time and total hospitalization expenses were statistically analyzed. Results 64 of children were included, the incidence of AEs was low, which was not related to the branch level of HFNC and the mode of enternal nutrition.Children in the early feeding group had a shorter PICU length of stay, shorter duration of HFNC use and total hospitalization expenses, than children in the late feeding group. Conclusion In this study,feeding-related AEs were rare and not related to the delivered level of respiratory support. It is safe to initiate early enteral nutrition in bronchiolitis children on HFNC support.
