摘　　要：文章从凯文·林奇的《the Image of City》一书入手,探讨了《the Image of City》的基本内涵,并以此为切入点提出《the Image of City》与"城市意象"这一概念存在差异;延续这一思路,作者探讨了中国"意象"语境下"城市意象"的基本概念,并进一步提出"城市意象"是城市特色生成建构的载体;最后作者以亲身实践,进一步探讨了"城市意象"作为塑造城市特色的载体在城市设计中的运用。The paper starts with the book The Image of City by Kevin Lynch,discusses the basic connotation of the Image of City,and uses this as a starting point to put forward the concept of the Image of City and"city image"there are differences in concepts.Continuing this idea,the author explores the basic concept of"urban image"in the context of Chinese"image",and further proposes that"urban image"is the carrier of the generation and construction of urban characteristics;finally the author further explores with his own practice"urban image"is used in urban design as a carrier to shape urban characteristics.
