摘　　要：《午夜之子》是英国作家萨尔曼·拉什迪的成名之作,借助讲述主人公萨里姆的家族史,描绘了发生于印度独立前后整个南亚次大陆的广阔生活图景。作者拉什迪通过表现人物身份边缘化、文化身份差异引发的冲突以及文化的无根性,反映了身处东西文化夹缝中人们的身份焦虑感和混杂文化体验。Midnight’s Children is a famous work by The British writer Salman Rushdie.With the help of the family history of the protagonist Salim,Midnight’s Children depicts a broad picture of life in the whole South Asian subcontinent before and after India’s independence.Rushdie reflects people’s sense of identity anxiety and mixed cultural experience between east and west cultures by showing the marginalization of character identity,the conflict caused by cultural identity difference and the rootlessness of culture.
