摘　　要：彼得·诺维克以《那高尚的梦想:"客观性问题"与美国史学界》一书,参与了历史学界对"客观性"问题的讨论。他阐述了历史客观性的"变动性"及"原初可靠性",分析了客观性与史学专业化的相互关系。20世纪80年代末,诺维克感知到历史学面临的挑战之后,写作了这部作品。他给历史学界的建议是重视客观性与史学专业化的相互关系,相信客观性的原初可靠性,强调历史研究的意义。Peter Novick participated in the discussion of "objectivity" in the history circle with his book That Noble Dream:The "Objectivity Question" and the American Historical Profession.Novick put forward the viewpoint of objectivity variability and primal validity,and pointed out the complementary relationship between objectivity and historiography specialization.In the late 1980 s,when Novick realized the challenges facing history,he wrote this work.His advice was to value the interrelationship between objectivity and historiography specialization,believe in the original reliability of objectivity,and emphasize the significance of historical research.
