During the first half of the 20th century,The Korean peninsula suffered 36 years of Japanese colonial rule.During this time, many Korean patriots went into exile in China, where they launched the anti-Japanese independence movement. They founded more than 100 kinds of newspapers and magazines in Chinese and Korean, actively propagandizing their anti-Japanese views, and issued their anti-Japanese calls through literary creation. Most of the Korean literati were proficient in ancient Chinese, and they soon became familiar with modern Chinese during their stay in China. The Chinese literary works they created had a very distinct nature of anti-Japanese literature, which was an important part of Korean modern literature and a valuable treasure of East Asian anti-Japanese literature. As most of these works are written in Chinese, they have not yet attracted extensive attention from the Korean academic circle. In recent years, with the discovery and arrangement of literature historical materials, the appearance of anti-Japanese literature in China and Korea has gradually become clear.Among them,anti-Japanese poetry is the most typical Korean anti-Japanese literary genre, and also represents the cry of the small and weak nationalities in the East.
