摘　　要：国家翻译实践作为建构国家形象的途径之一,其制度化译本担负着传播民族形象、赢得外部世界认同的重任。本文以制度化译者代表沙博理英译长篇小说《保卫延安》(Defend Yanan!)为例,从修辞学家哈里克提出的四种象征资源,即论辩内容、诉求策略、话语建构方式和美学手段为出发点,探究该译本中体现的译者修辞努力,以期为提升国家翻译实践中的制度化译本质量和传播效果提供借鉴。The institutionalized translators in the National Translation Program are supposed to bring rhetorical awareness into translation and take the responsibility of disseminating national image to the outside world.This paper,taking the English translation of Defend Yanan! by Shapiro as an example,explores the rhetorical efforts embodied in the translation from the four symbolic resources proposed by the rhetorician Herrick—arguments,appeals,arrangement and aesthetics.It aims to shed some light on the institutionalized translation in the National Translation Program.
