At a time when the history of the anti-Japanese war has become an entertainment product, revisiting A Long’s anti-Japanese classics that are close to the forefront of the battlefield and reproduce the original appearance of the war can awaken the traumatic mem-ory of the nation, enhance the sense of national identity and cohesion, and spiritually support the realization of great rejuvenation of the nation. A Long’s writings on the anti-Japanese war provide a holistic view and reflection on the war, and they do not stop at the narrow patriotic sentiment and superficial optimistic spiritual level. It provides us with a review and reflection on the spiritual burden of the nation itself. The narrative style that combines the strong and manic emotions with the melancholic poetic brushstroke makes A Long the most diacritical writer of the anti-Japanese war writing.
