摘　　要：斯特林·布朗是美国哈莱姆文艺复兴时期成长起来的一位诗人、文学批评家、社会学者,也是哈莱姆文艺复兴的南方文化传统开创者和丰碑。作为诗人,诗人坚守基于南方黑人民间文化进行诗歌创作的艺术信念;作为文学批评家,布朗通过构建美国非裔诗歌史,致力于确立基于美国黑人文化的诗歌美学;作为社会学者,布朗聚焦于南方黑人的生存经验及其文化实践,进一步支撑了他的南方黑人文化诗歌美学。Sterling A. Brown(1901-1989)rose as a poet, critic and social researcher during the Harlem Renaissance period and, meanwhile, worked as a pioneer in the southern folk tradition for this intellectual movement. As a poet, Brown developed his poetics based on the southern black folk culture in his poetry creation. As a critic, Brown made efforts in establishing his folkbased aesthetics by constructing a history of African American poetry. And as a social researcher,he focused on the study of the living experience of the southern black people, which echoed and supported his poetic aesthetic based on the southern black folk culture.
