城市复兴政策下的伯明翰的建筑与城市设计

摘　　要：英国城市复兴运动诞生于20世纪末,它以伦敦为中心,对全英城市影响都很广。其中伯明翰旧城中心区的再开发是规模比较大、效果比较好的例子。概要介绍了英国城市复兴运动的背景、内容和伯明翰城市的基本情况。详实展示了伯明翰中心区的城市设计、主要大型公共建筑如新街火车站、Bullring购物中心、伯明翰新图书馆、Mailbox购物中心和Cube写字楼,以及布林德利酒吧区、运河整治等。总结了这些建筑与城市设计对伯明翰城市经济与社会发展的良好促进作用及对当前中国城市建设的有益启示。Urban Renaissance,a promotion policy with London as the center,had wide influences to other cities across whole the United Kingdom.For example,the regeneration of Birmingham downtown is one of the largest and most successful samples.In this paper,we will briefly introduce policy of British Urban Renaissance and Birmingham City firstly,then analyze each project with details,which include New Street Station,Bullring Shopping Mall,New Library of Birmingham,the Cube Tower in the Mailbox Complex,Brindley Place,and Canal around Gas Street Basin.Lastly,we showed the good result to Birmingham social and economic development caused by the above mentioned architecture and urban designs,and their enlightenment to city construction in contemporary China.
