摘　　要：Taking The Well,written by Australian novelist Elizabeth Jolley,as the research object,this paper aims to clarify the complex disputes between the protagonists and applies existentialism theory to analyze the dilemma confronted by the protagonists,the relationship between self and other,existence and free choice,which causes people to ponder deeply over how marginalized people should exist in the human world and find the access to the meaning of existence,so as to appeal the social care for those at the margins.
