摘 要:随着后摩尔时代的到来和Dennard缩放规律的终结,CPU处理能力增速趋缓.超大规模数据中心网络中的流量却呈现持续的指数增长态势.数据中心网络堆栈功能开始向硬件转移,旨在节省CPU时钟周期的新型智能网卡(SmartNICs)应运而生.系统结构和网络领域顶会两年来发表多篇相关研究成果.本文首先介绍了智能网卡研究背景,并归纳了网卡智能化的演进过程;其次,重点阐述超大规模数据中心时代的智能网卡研究挑战以及在网络加速、数据传输、新型调度器和性能隔离等方面的最新研究进展;随后,介绍了工业智能网卡研发现状;最后,给出可编程提升、人工智能增强、光学智能网卡和开源硬件等4个研究趋势并总结全文.With the arrival of the Post-Moore era and the end of Dennard scaling,CPU processing capacity growth is slowing.On the other hand,the traffic that hyperscale data centers need to deal with has been in continuedand exponential growth.New SmartNICs emerge to save CPU cycles as the network stacks are moving into hardware.In the past two years,the top conferences in the field of computer systems and networks have published many research results onSmartNICs.Firstly,the research background of SmartNICs is introduced and the evolution history of SmartNICs is summarized.Secondly,the research challenges of SmartNICs in the era of hyperscale data centers and the latest research progress in network accelerator,data transfer,new schedulers and performance isolation are summarized in particular.In addition,the current status of industry SmartNICsdevelopmentisintroduced.Finally,four research trends,including programmable improvement,artificial intelligence enhancement,optical intelligent network card and open source hardware,are given,and the whole paper is summarized and a conclusion is given.
